Anti-Oil and Gas BillsIn Motion |
HB 548 Oil and Gas Equalization Tax Act |
What Randy is Tracking: This bill creates the O&G Equalization Tax Act that establishes a new tax of 0.85% of the taxable value of oil and on oil and other liquid hydrocarbons removed from natural gas at or near the wellhead. When stacked with existing severance tax of 3.15% would make a 4%. |
HB 222 Fracturing Fluid Disclosure and Use |
What Randy is Tracking: Amends the Oil & Gas Act (OGA) to require the disclosure of the composition of fluids used in hydraulic fracturing and prohibits the commencement of downhole operations if they are not disclosed. This bill would violate current Trademark laws. Finally, a drilling permit application already requires this disclosure. |
